In addition to assisting the County Commission, the
Office of County Administrator has many duties necessary
for the daily operation of Wood County government.
The Commission Office keeps the Commissioner's agenda
up to date. People request time slots to meet with
the Commissioner during their limited hours. Every
Monday and Thursday a new agenda for that day is put
out.
In addition to formatting the agenda, the office also
keeps the minutes of each Commission meeting. They
record motions, nominations, and all other activities
that occur during a Commission meeting. To make
sure the minutes are correct there are several medium
that aid the Commission Office. Commission Meetings
are taped on cassettes and sometimes on VHS tapes. Also
concise notes are taken of the meetings. Tapes of
Commission meetings and transcripts of meetings are available
to the public. Cost: $2.50 for a tape; $1.50
for the first two pages of transcript plus $1.00 for
each additional page.
The Commission Office also has various responsibilities
that help out other county offices and organizations. They
do ordering of computer and copy paper for all offices,
write notices for holidays, special meetings, etc., check
the expense reports of other offices, and more. For
the Department of Transportation, the write orders and
help organize the list of Orphan Roads. They do
monthly invoicing for Wirt Co., Humane Society, Veterans',
etc. They stay in contact with the various boards
and commissions; they also write up orders and lists
of appointees for those groups. Also the office
takes care of monthly phone bills.
