Building Permits are issued for any improvements made to residential or commercial property.Currently, The Wood County Commission has exempted fees for replacement of roofing shingles.

Applications can be picked up in our office for permits to operate Video Lotteries, Salvage Yards, Exotic Entertainment Facilities and to erect Cell Towers.Further approval of these applications must be made by The Wood County Planning Commission and The Wood County Commissioners.

Compliance issues are handled directly from this office. As we also operate The Wood County Solid Waste Authority, we can assist residents with issues relating to the health and safety of property, including accumulated trash or debris and overgrown vegetation. We investigate open dumping of trash on public property and work to keep all areas of Wood County clean and beautiful.
